NOT THE DELUGE!

A Short Poem

Not even the Deluge

Lasted for Ever…

I am sitting

by the side of the road…

The little house

Among trees by the lake…

I don’t like where I was…

The heavens were green

And the grass was dun…

Black waters subsidied…

If it weren’t

How sad would be the

Houses, trees and lake…

The driver is changing the wheel…

True though, not many

Lived to outlast it…

I don’t like

where I am going to…

Oh, the crows and the vultures

Above my head…

Three days,

Till the rope

That bound me

Revolted…

But why do I watch

Still

The changing of the

Wheel

With impatience???
