My breath
is more important
than your train!
He mutters.
Is it time
to leave the city?
He mumbles.
His delirious mind
veered to the past,
to the half-forgotten class;
Which was the acid,
the science teacher had told,
that was odourless, colourless,
Tasteless?
His mind veered
to the present:
How about a city,
which is Treeless?
Trees shedding tears!
Toxic fumes
Everywhere!
And every year,
this kind of thing happens!
No big deal!
Stop being angry,
Stop being cynical,
Year after year!
He raves;
My future
is more important
than your Ego!
Your Mega Ego!
He fumbles,
Where are my
pair of eyeglasses?
So I can see through
Fog? Smog?
My future smudged?
Lahore people have
No memory;
Only one in a hundred,
would ask
How I died!
My future
is more important
than
Your train!
